Postdoc left =(

Today is my postdoc's last day of work in the lab. =( We went to Brown Sugar for lunch. It is a great Thai restaurant with what it considers as serving "Thai style, American taste'. I ordered "Fisherman Madness" which is a spicy seafood dish served with rice. Hehe.. it is really good. Our prof is very generous and offered to pay for everyone. =)

After that we had a cake cutting session in the Folin Wu room. Hmmm... it is so nice to have everyone gathering to send Lily off. hmmm... i think this is really a nice lab. =)

I think Lily is a really nice person and that is why there are so many people coming for the farewell lunch. Hope she will enjoy her new job. =)

Updates for this week

I guess there are always those weeks, u feel exceptionally happy to write updates about. Hmm not cos it has been a good week but mebe cos you know that at least that much is done and over with.

Updates:
1) I had two discussion sections for my structural biology course this week. I never like discussion sections and it is always hard to anticipate what the prof will ask. For my first discussion section, the prof just asked a question that i really have no idea how to answer. Although it is a really simple one. So I had to say i dunno and I felt really unhappy about it. For my second discussion section this week, I could answer the questions asked by my prof so I felt much better. Oh well... there are 10 discussion sections for this class and I have completed 6/10 so I am more than halfway through. =)

2) I had to lead a discussion on "Science and Faith" for my science ethics class. Felt really stressed before that. But the discussion went well. I basically ask one question, and the class went on to talk for 20 minutes, and I only had to go through the two case studies in the book to eat out another 40 minutes. Oh.. what I was most happy about is the fact that they liked the case study that I wrote. Hehe... I actually din have that case study prepared the day before the discussion. On my way to school on the bus, I just felt that I need a better case study and came up with this one. So I am really glad that they like it. =)

Somehow the food that I ordered for the class also seems better than those before. haha... so i guess that is really a lot of good luck.

3) Experiments did not work. Hmmm.. I did the same digest 6 times now..... how come it is not working?? Hmmmm.. it is actually as simple as making agar agar.. what is wrong?

A week + a day of failed experiments

SIGH. i have so much failed experiments until I dunno what else there is to say about me and experiments.

Very demoralized.
