Arts for Peace Festival 2007
Last Sunday, June 3rd, we held a successful performance at our Waltham cultural center. This is the picture of Rachel, Jennifer, Svyeta and I taken after the concert. Haha.. I still think it is a miracle how the four of us pull it through our little portion of the dance.
I am very old hor. Rachel is the group leader cos she is the one teaching us the dance and she is only 12. Svyeta is 11. I am more than twice their age. =( Haha..
Anyway kids are troublesome. Haha.. arguing over stuff I dun understand. Hmm. Mebe I have to admit that I am old liao. I really admire how Svyeta and Jennifer managed to come for most of the practices. They stayed in western mass and took three hours to travel down to the center, making it 6 hours in travelling time. Must have been tough for kids to do that. Cannot imagine Svyeta thinking still for 6 hours since she is always in the high energy state. I think their drivers are even worth more praise. haha.. driving and taking care of kids. hmm.. poor dads and mums.
Anyway this is a bad photo of me. haha.. But I look happy in it so that is good. Anyway Svyeta is Russian. Everytime I look at her I started to think of what the princesses in Tzar time must have look like. =) Jennifer's parents are originally from Taiwan. Haha.. and despite the fact that she always say that she does not want to perform at every practice, I know that she really wants to do it. =)

Good job for the dance! It's great to see you again!
Traveling long distances and driving for hours to activities is pretty common for us. Kudos to the kids' parents, especially in times of rocketing gas prices. Like what Tariq Hassan said, it is our good fortune to do that. In fact, it's like a badge of honor.
And... the distance traveled for sake of the Law is a measure of one's seeking spirit.
(No disrespect to your country, but it is hard to imagine one that is 40 miles across and 25 miles high. Doing activities there must be like in NYC. I guess instead of driving, you take the T and buses. It probably works out to be the same in terms of time.)
